AGA Official Grading Scale
10.0 — Flawless Diamond (FD)
Absolute perfection — flawless under 10× magnification.
9.5 — Diamond (DMND)
Virtually perfect; minor microscopic flaw possible.
9.0 — Immaculate (IM)
Exceptional quality; faint imperfections only upon close inspection.
8.0 — Near Immaculate (NIM)
Light wear but excellent visual appeal.
7.0 — Exquisite (EXQ)
Moderate wear, retains premium presentation.
6.0 — Exquisite (EXQ)
Visible handling marks; still strong collector quality.
5.0 — Very Good (VG)
Visible wear, fading, rounding.
4.0 — Very Good (VG)
Moderate to heavy wear; intact and stable.
3.0 — Good (GD)
Heavy wear, dulling, scratches.
2.0–1.0 — Fair/Poor (FR/PR)
Severe wear or damage; authenticity maintained.
